A Dreary Week Ahead ! Bouts of Rain and Milder Temperatures will be the Rule.

Discussion:
Sunday AM: 12/9/07

A very Unsettled period is on tap for the entire Delaware Valley this week. Milder temperatures will return, especially towards Midweek. A series of weak low pressure systems, will develop over the Mississippi Valley and move ENE, along a stalled out front, which will be draped over the Region. At times this frontal boundary will move north of the area, as these waves of low pressure, kink the front northward.

This will allow the advancement of much milder air to our south to move in. Some areas South of PHL, could reach 55 to 60 degrees, for both Wednesday and Thursday. This will be most likely in Extreme Southern NJ, and DE. There will be some breaks from this Rain, especially Later Monday into early Tuesday, and then again on Wednesday.

The strongest of these Low Pressure System's, will move in on Thursday. Rain will be the rule, and Milder air will overspread the entire area, as this Low passes to our NW, near Central PA. After this storm system passes, a NW flow of Cooler air will return for Friday. The stalled out front, and mild weather, will finally be shoved to our south, and Offshore on Friday.

A much Colder weather pattern is likely to return for next weekend, as CAA (Cold Air Advection) will be the rule, and temperatures will return to more Seasonable conditions. Highs will be closer to 40, and Lows in the 20's for both Saturday and Sunday.

I'll update on Tuesday, as there's some uncertainty for Wednesday Night into Thursday. Enough cold air could filter in Wednesday night, for this precip to start as sleet or Freezing rain, especially North of PHL.

A coastal threat for next weekend (Saturday night into Sunday) is now showing up with some models. Enough cold air should be in place next weekend, so this storm would be Snow. Stay tuned for this one !
