Wet, Raw, Chilly, & Stormy Conditions through Friday ! Slowly Clearing out for the Weekend.

Discussion:

A developing low pressure system now off the SE Coast, along will a H5 upper level cutoff low, will begin to move very slowly ENE over the next couple of days. High pressure now to our north and northwest, continues to block this storm from moving northward. During Thursday and Friday as this high moves NE with the main jet stream and off the New England coast, the block will be removed.

This will then allow the storm too advance north and Northeast to just off the Carolina and VA coast on Friday. A strong pressure gradient will begin developing over the M/A coast into Southern New England Thursday through Saturday. Both Gale and Storm warnings are up for the DE and NJ coasts for Thursday into Friday.

A continuous pounding along the DE and NJ shores will cause moderate to severe beach erosion. East and NE Winds of 20 to 40 Mph and gust to 50 can be expected for later Thursday and Friday for the DE and NJ shore points. Waves of 4' to 8' can be expected along the surf zone.

Things will begin to ease up on Saturday as the storm weakens and moves further offshore. So some gradual improving conditions can be expected from the higher winds and pounding surf on Saturday. Finally we can expect a nice day and some sunshine on Sunday, as temps rebound into the low and mid 60's.

Total Rainfall amounts: Thursday through Saturday.

For NE MD, SE PA and Northern NJ:
.25" to .75"

For most of DE, Central and interior Southern NJ:
.75" to 1.50"

For Southern and Coastal DE / Extreme Southern/Coastal NJ:
1.50" to 2.50"

Thursday:
Mainly Cloudy and windy with some showers in the AM, then periods of rain developing during the afternoon. Continued chilly with highs in the low to mid 50's. ENE Winds at 15 to 25 inland to 20-40 Mph along the DE and NJ coast.

Thursday Night:
Cloudy with periods of rain, moderate at times mainly S & E of PHL, and continued windy. Lows in the low to mid 40's. NE winds 15-25 Mph and gusty.

Friday:
Cloudy with periods of rain which will be moderate at times, then tapering off to some showers during Friday night. Chilly and quite windy. Highs in the mid to upper 50's and lows in the mid 40's. NE winds at 15-25 Mph, stronger along the coast at 20 to 35 Mph.
