Here's a great webpage put together by the NWS in Mt.Holly NJ, on the June 29th-30th 2012 Derecho event, which took our region by surprise with it's power and fury.
Though I was fortunate to escape the damaging winds with this event, by literally 5 miles from my house, I seen the damage from Newfield and North Vineland south into the Millville area. This damage was extensive and even towards the southern NJ coast was hit hard as well. Derecho type events are rare in our region and more common and powerful in the Midwest, so this was no joke and a very impressive Derecho.
Once again a great job by the NWS in putting this together and please take the time to read and absorb the information on this new webpage.
