Possible minor Wintry Mix and Wet Snow Event for Parts Of The M/A States, Later Sunday Night into Monday AM !

Saturday AM Update:

My prelim thoughts for later Sunday night into Monday. Mixed Precip and some wet snow, expect A Coating to 2" for ROA/LYH/RIC VA is my thinking. Temps in mid 30's and warmer ground will make it tough for snow/sleet to accumulate .

Further north From near CHO VA and Northern VA to NE MD, SJ and DE 2"-4" is possible. I'll have a more solid call and update tomorrow for this event.

Temperature moderate this weekend across the M/A to more seasonal levels, but another cold front will be moving in Sunday night into Monday !

A weak wave of low pressure will develop on this cold front over the TN Valley on Sunday night, and move east to the NC/SE VA coast on Monday. As colder air moves in on Sunday night, light rain will mix with and possible change to some wet snow during Monday morning. Any snow/sleet accumulations look to be light at this time, but a Coating to 2" can't be ruled out for SW and Central VA, with 1"-3" in the mountains. Further north over Northern VA to MD and Southern NJ and DE, some snow accumulation is possible depending on the track of this wave of low pressure.

Northern areas of the M/A will have a better chance of more snow than rain, being deeper in the colder air, but the northern extent of the precip shield will be lighter. I'll update over the weekend with better details as we get closer to this minor winter event.
