My Final Call for Clipper Event: Wednesday 3/7/07

My Final Call: Ruggie Weather
Forecast Issued: Tuesday 3/6/07
Time: 10:00 AM
TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS: Wednesday 3/07/07

An Early March Clipper system will be moving into the M/A states Late Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing accumulating snow from the Ohio Valley into the M/A states. The best chance for general 3"-6" amounts will be over SW and South Central PA, Northern WV, and Western MD. Some areas in the mountains of WV and Western MD could recieve up to 8" of snow.

My best estimate on the system's track will be across Central WV to Northern VA, and exiting off the Southern Delmavia Coast later Wednesday. The system will be a fast mover and intensification will be limited due to it's fast movement, but some additional moisture could be injected on a NE flow in Southern NJ and portions of Northern and Central DE during Wednesday. Snow should begin in the Delaware Valley, during the early morning hours on Wednesday, and end between late afternoon and the early evening hours towards the coast.

Generaly 2" to 4" can be expected over portions of SE PA, NE MD, Southern NJ and Northern and Central DE. From DCA to Southern DE the snow will mix with IP and some rain before ending in the afternoon, as temps reach the mid and upper 30's there, accumulations of 1" to perhaps 3" can be expected.

A change over to rain is possible over lower portions of the Delmarva and portions of Eastern VA where precip falls. I'm expecting near 1" of snow to accumulate in these areas.
