My Weekend Outlook: A Wet Saturday but Ends Pleasant for Sunday !

10/23/09
Friday

Another start to a wet weekend, but ends with a pleasant and cool day on Sunday. A storm system now in the Midwest, will move NE into the Great Lakes on Saturday. A strong cold front associated with this storm will move slowly east over the next 24 to 36 hours, and reach to coast Saturday night. Cooler air now in place, will be replaced by milder weather tomorrow as a strong SW flow of warmer and moist air develops ahead of the front. Also expect breezy conditions and winds of 15-25 Mph out of the SW on Saturday, and shifting to the west during Saturday night. Winds will also be quite strong Tonight but out of the East and SE direction at 15 to 25 Mph.

Friday Night - Saturday Night:
Periods of rain will move in this evening, and continue into much of Saturday. This will mainly be just a few showers during Saturday morning, but during Saturday afternoon and evening the front will approach with a round of heavier rain and possibly a few thunderstorms. Temps will be quite warm ahead of this front and many areas will reach the low 70's.

All this rain will move out by Saturday midnight and skies will begin clearing later at night. Low's for Friday Night will be in the low to mid 50's and expect the Upper 40's to low 50's for Saturday Night.

Total rainfall amounts of .50" to 1.00" will be common across the Delaware Valley. A few spots, especially North and West of PHL, could see 1.00" to 1.50" amounts.

Sunday:
A seasonably pleasant and breezy day, with highs in the low 60's under Mostly Sunny skies. Clear and chilly at night with lows in the low to mid 40's.

Monday:
Continued Mostly Sunny and pleasant Highs in the low to mid 60's.

Take Care,
Ruggie
