Delaware Valley Region: More snow on the way for this evening !

Saturday 2-11-12
Issued: 2:45 PM
For: SE PA/Southern & Central NJ/ Northern & Central DE

I'm forecasting a general 1"-2" of snow across the Delaware Valley Region between 5:00 PM and 12:00 AM this evening !

A strong Arctic front will be crossing the region during this evening, along with a Norlun type trough from our coastal storm. With plenty of low level moisture from our coastal storm and the Arctic front, any moisture in the atmosphere will be rung out ! Snow Squalls and heavier banding will develop over much of the Delaware Valley. The heaviest of this activity occuring between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Expect reduced visibility if driving this evening.

In addition, North and NW winds will increase to 20-35 MPH and temperatures will fall rapidly behind this front. So also expect a flash freeze type event which will be of concern for those travelling this evening and into the overnight hours. Temps falling into the 20's this evening and mid to upper teens during the overnight hours.

Take Care,
Ruggie
