Hi All,
Once again we are faced with yet another heat wave that promises to stay for an extended period of at least 5 days. This all starts today as many locations reach the low 90's across the Delaware Valley. On a good note the humidity levels should be low to moderate both today and Friday.
On Friday, the more intense heat begins and continues into the weekend. I'm forecasting highs in the mid to upper 90's for both Friday and Saturday, and the middle 90's on Sunday. Humidity values will reach at least moderate levels for both Saturday and Sunday, which will increase our Heat Index levels to 100-105 degrees, this especially in Urban areas. Any Late afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be isolated over the weekend, so good luck and lucky you, if this occurs in your town.
On Monday the heat and humidity continue, but not as intense, as highs reach the low 90's over much of the region. As we head into Tuesday and the 4 th of July, it appears a trough will nose down just enough over the NE to give us some relief from the intense heat and humidity. By no means are we going to get cooler than average, but more near Average temps for early July. So expect very warm conditions and less humidity for Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the mid to upper 80's across the Delaware Valley with the mid 80's being more confined to our far Northern and western suburbs. I'll have more thoughts on next week later this weekend. Overall trends are favoring that we return to more near Average temps for awhile after the middle of next week.
Take Care,
Ruggie
