MY 2012 JULY OUTLOOK. PHL/NYC and THE M/A STATES

Hi All !
It's time for my July outlook and My Summer forecast verification to date for PHL/Delaware Valley Area and NYC.

As posted in an early June write-up, I'm calling for a NEAR AVG Summer for the PHL/NYC areas with TEMPS for this 2012 Summer (-1.0 F to +1.0 F), for 3 month period. MET Summer includes JJA months.

The June Stats are now out for PHL/NYC.
Overall, We started the first 20 days mainly on the cooler side for June and have heated up some to close out the month. We experienced 2 heat waves lasting 3 to 4 days, but many very cooler than average days during the month. Both PHL and NYC closed out with NEAR AVG TEMPS for the month of JUNE.

MONTH OF JUNE STATS FOR PHL, PA:

+ 0.2 F departure for the month which is AVG.

TEMPS:
AVERAGE MONTHLY: +73.6 F (AVG)
DPTR FM NORMAL: +0.2 F (AVG)
HIGHEST: 98 F ON 29
LOWEST: 52 F ON 5

PRECIP:
TOTAL FOR MONTH: 2.94"
DPTR FM NORMAL: -0.49

MONTH OF JUNE STATS FOR NYC:
Both airports came in at +0.4 F and +0.7 F which is AVG.
Central Park, NYC was -1.1 F or Near to Slightly Bleow Avg.

So with that being said and the official numbers out for June, not a bad start with 2 months to go.

MY 2012 JULY OUTLOOK FOR: PHL/NYC Areas & The Mid-Atlantic States.

For all areas the first half of July will start out with Above Normal Temperatures of mainly +1 F to +3 F, this through around mid month, then a pattern change to more near average to slightly below normal temps for the 2nd half of July. Precipitation will be Near Avg over all areas. My overal Temperature and Precipitation forecast is reflected below.

PHL/NYC Areas: (Northern M/A)
TEMPS: 0.0F to +2.0F (Near to Slightly Above Avg)
PRECIP: Near Avg.

DCA METRO: RIC/LYH/ROA, VA:
The Lower Mid-Atlantic States: This Includes Southern MD, VA, and the Delmarva, South of DOV. DE.
