A happy 4th of July folks.
Today will be another Hot day with Partly Sunny skies and temps reaching the mid 90's this afternoon. Some showers and thunderstorms will develop during the late afternoon hours and continue into early this evening. The best chance will be between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM this evening. Not everyone will see a shower or thunderstorm, as these storms will be scattered in nature and in a broken line form. Expect some heavy rain and gusty winds with any thunderstorms. I don't see these storms being Severe, but more on the strong side where they do occur. The rest of the week looks very hot with Sunny Skies and temps in the mid to upper 90's for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
The next chance for storms comes later Saturday and Saturday night with a stronger cold front. We break this Heat Wave on Monday and for much of next week, as a large trough and cooler, drier, Canadian air overtakes our regions. Look for more near average temps in the mid to upper 80's and less humidity for at least the beginning and middle of next week.
Take Care,
Ruggie
