Enjoy The Weekend Warmth ! Winter Is NOT Over & Returns Later Next Week ! More Snow ???

Discussion:
Thursday: 3/5/09

So guys, We finally got our big Snowstorm for the season across much of the M/A and The Delaware Valley Regions. The last few days have been brutally Cold, for March with some records being broken. Millville NJ broke and all time record low of -7 F for the month of March on 3/4/09. The Atlantic City Airport, also broke an all time record for the month of March at 3 F.

As we head into the weekend, a taste of Spring visits for a couple of days, as temps soar into the low to mid 60's, for both Saturday and Sunday. To make things even better, We'll have Partly Sunny Skies with these unseasonably warm temps. Sunday is questionable and could be mostly cloudy as a frontal boundary stalls out to our north. As we head into next week, temperatures will continue quite mild in the lower to mid 50's for Highs Monday Through Wednesday, and lows mainly in the 30's.

Some showers and periods of rain will move in towards mid-week as a strong cold front crosses the area on Wednesday. behind this front colder air returns, and the Upper level pattern, supports a stretch of colder and stormy conditions as we approach mid month.

At this time, Long range models and key teleconnections, are suggesting we revert back to below normal temps and possibly some wintry precipitation, later next week or towards next weekend. For now, enjoy the several days of well above normal temps. During next week, I'll do a more in depth writeup on the return to a winter like pattern, and possibly some more wintry precipitation.

Take Care,
Ruggie
